DS2 Christian v.Eitzen rules the under 13’s UK Middle Distance Track   Records 2009

After a successful X Country Season 2008-2009, coming 1st in the Chiltern League, 2nd in the Oxford League and being 1 of 6 picked to represent Oxfordshire in the Intercounties Cross Country, (gaining a very respectful place at 64th out of 294 runners).  Christian made sure to win the Schools X Country for the European School.

Christian entered the summer track season full of excitement and enthusiasm.  He was not to be disappointed.

He ran the most amazing season decimating the competitors in the Oxford League and setting a new Oxford League record in the 1200 mtrs running at 3.36.3 and becoming the UK number 1 for under 13’s.  He has been invited by the Oxfordshire Junior Track and Field League to a presentation evening which celebrates the successes and achievements of  Oxfordshire young atheletes. He is also the number 1 in the UK for the 1500 metres running at 4.34.47 and no 2 in the 800mtrs running at 2.13.03.

He has started the X Country season this year with great results.  Unfortunately in his first Chiltern race he got pipped to the post in the last 5 metres forgetting the  sprint finish, so he went into his first Oxon race with determination to win, which he did in style, coming in an amazing 43 seconds before the second runner..  This win spurred him on for his second Chiltern race where he so desperately wanted to prove himself.  He did not forget the sprint this time and came in 1st place, 12 seconds in the lead.  The following weekend he raced in the the most terrible weather conditions in Maidenhead in the Berks, Bucks & Oxon X Country Race where again he gained a repeceted 1st  place well ahead of the other contenders.

His plans this season are to better his position in the Inter Counties X Counties Championships hopefully securing a position in the top 10.  He also intends to run in the Nationals X Country and of course he hopes to win the Schools  X Country for the European School, so all support is welcome.

He will go into the summer track season as an under 15 so will be racing against much older children.  His aims are to stay at the top so watch this space…
